We Are Moving!

Yes, you read that correctly. We are moving! When we purchased this home in January 2019, we never thought we would be moving again 2 years later. But here we are about to move into our third fixer upper. We certainly have mixed emotions. We absolutely love the house we are in and all the hard work we have poured into it renovating and putting our personal touches on the home. But something we recently discovered is that neither of us really let ourselves get emotionally attached to a house. We learned this about ourselves this month when we heard about a house that was getting ready to go on the market in our ‘dream location’. Because I am in real estate, I was able to get us in to take a look and within 3 minutes of being in this house, I knew I wanted it. I looked at my hubby and said “Are you ready to do this all over again?”. He was totally on board so we made an offer to the seller that was accepted and we quickly listed our home. Within 48 hours we had received 9 offers on our home and the countdown to closing day began.

A lot of people have asked me if I am sad to be leaving a home that we have put so much work into. Oddly enough, I am not sad at all. Designing and renovating a home is exciting and enjoyable to me. I feel that my style has already changed in some ways and there are a lot of things I would do differently in the next house. There are so many things we have learned with each and every project we have done in our past two homes and there are a lot of things we will do differently in this third fixer upper.

The new house needs a lot of cosmetic work and we are very excited to get started. The very first projects will include new flooring throughout the home, all new interior paint, and a new roof. The first design projects I want to tackle are the office, entryway, laundry room, and living room. I have plans for accent walls, beams on the ceiling, built-in shelves, and so much more. Are you wondering about the kitchen? Yes, we will be doing another kitchen renovation! This will be our third complete kitchen gut and remodel and I cannot wait! Some other projects that are on the list for later down the road are bathroom renovations, paver deck in the backyard, complete landscaping in the front and backyard, and possibly a faux fireplace!

Thank you for all your love and support! I am so excited to get started and share all the details here on the blog. I will be sharing more information and photos of the new house soon. Make sure you follow along on Instagram for all the details. Here are some more of the listing photos from our home:
