Spray Painted Planter Pots

I recently decided to give my front porch a little refresh and wanted to add a pop of color. I really liked Krylon’s new color of the year for 2022, Satin Rolling Surf, and decided to incorporate it in my front porch decor.

First, I picked up some cheap plastic pots from my hardware store. I also used an old terra-cotta pot I had in the garage. I really like the Krylon Fusion spray paint because it is a paint+primer in one which means I don’t have to sand or prime my items before painting them.

I set them up outside on a drop cloth and got to work spray painting them. I have found the best method to spray painting something is to first shake the can for a good 30-60 seconds. Then I keep the can 10-12 inches away from the item I am spraying and begin spraying in a sweeping motion always keeping my hand moving. I do one light coat to start and let that dry for 10-15 minutes and then come back and do another light coat. I have found that doing multiple light coats gives you a super smooth finish without any drips or runs.

I let the final coat of paint dry for a good 4-6 hours and then I added some plants and flowers. This Satin Rolling Surf color was the perfect pop of color I needed to brighten up my small front porch!
