DIY Kid’s Gaming Valentine Day Treat Bags

My son loves video games and asked me for a Mario or video game themed Valentine’s Day treat this year to share with the kids in his class. Since I haven’t had much luck finding a lot of Valentine’s Day goodie bags for boys, I decided to DIY our own!

Supplies:

I created a free, printable video game treat bag topper that you can customize and print at home too. I used Canva to create it which is a free, easy-to-use design platform where I have created all kinds of graphics and printables for all kinds of events. Click below for the free printable treat bag topper.

Once you have customized the printable and printed them out, use scissors to cut along the outline or just outside the outline. I printed mine on white cardstock paper but regular computer paper will work for this too. Fold each one in half between the video game controller side and the mushroom side.

Now it’s time to fill your treat bags with goodies. I like to use 4 inch clear treat bags for these. Since kid’s seem to get so much candy on Valentine’s Day, I decided to find a non-candy sweet treat and some small gifts to go inside the treat bags. We filled ours with Mario snack gummies, Mario stamps, and Mario stickers.

Then I laid down the treat bag on my counter, placed the folded topper over the top and added two staples on the bottom of the topper and they were done!

This was such a fun and easy way to create a personalized treat that my son could share with his class at their Valentine’s Day school party. Some other non-candy gifts you could add to these goodie bags are temporary tattoos, small notebooks and pens, bracelets, toy sticky hands, fidget spinners, keychains, or small plush animals. Just remember to order a treat bag size that will fit the goodies you plan to fill them with. The kid’s will love whatever you choose!
